Week 31

Yo Everybody!

So I thought I sent an email last week, but apparently it didn't get sent
and then it got deleted. I think the highlight of that email was that
I got flipped off a couple times (haha.)

On to this week. Tuesday was fun! There has been a big shortage of miles in
our zone for some reason, so we didn't have a lot of miles to start this month
and we were really close to going over with a week left, so we decided
we would try to walk a lot. We have a dinner appointment every week in
Mt. Morris with a family in our ward, and for a number of reasons we
couldn't cancel it, so we decided to walk there. Mt. Morris is 8 miles
away, and we didn't really think about how far that was until we were
a half mile down the freeway. We kept going though, and we had
walked on the side of the freeway for about 2 1/2 miles until a member
saw us and picked us up. We were hoping that would happen but we
didn't actually think it would, but thank goodness it did.

Then we got picked up from our dinner appointment by the zone leaders
because they were coming down  to get us for exchanges anyway. I went
with Elder Larsen up to Batavia and Elder Allen and also my trainer
Elder Allen #2 stayed here. It was fun to go up to Batavia for a day.
Elder larsen was pretty sick so we didn't do too much, but we saw a
less active and we had a really good visit with her. she wasn't shy to
tell us why she didn't come to church, which is a good thing because
usually with less actives it's hard to bring it out of them so that we
can help.

The rest of the week was pretty normal. We went tracting in some
freezing rain on Saturday night so that was fun. That went pretty well
and we have a few people to go back to on that street. On Saturday it was
55 degrees and then we woke up to 7 inches of snow on Sunday. That's happened
every week for a month and it's really annoying, especially since we are attempting
not to be fat and go running in the mornings, but we can't when there's ice on the
sidewalks. Anyway, before it snowed there was a lot of rain which froze underneath
the snow, so the roads weren't too great Sunday morning. Most of the ward couldn't
come to church so we only had Sacrament meeting.

Alright well thats all I got. Cya later!

Week 29

Hey Everyone!

I promise that more things happened during the week, but when I sit down to write them I can't remember much. I need to do better at writing down the things I want to say during the week so my letters aren't lame. I'll see what I can remember though...ummm so Wednesday was great! except I'm being sarcastic, because we had the worst snow storm of the winter. The day before it was 55 degrees, and we don't get the weather report so we thought it was finally spring and then we woke up the next morning to the snow just beating on us. We had another warning not to go out so we couldn't really do much. Thursday we had exchanges, so I went down to Nunda with Elder Johnston, who is in my district, and we just ended up tracting. That was alright, we got a couple people to come back to.

I'm not remembering too well with what we did on Friday and Saturday, but I know that all of our investigators canceled on us. That was really the theme of the week, not having appointments because people just couldn't meet. We definitely should have some good teaching visits this week though. On Sunday we were given a key to the church! Missionaries a couple transfers ago lost it, so they couldn't get us one until now, so now we can play basketball on pday. umm what else...I know that I have things to tell you I just really can't remember right now. Hopefully I'll remember and I can put them in next weeks letter. I also have pictures, but I don't have a cord for my camera so I'll have to buy one. Sorry! Alright, well cya next week!

Week 28

Hey Everybody!

This week was good! It went by a lot faster since I'm used to the area now, which is good. We've been fed a lot this week which is also good!

Tuesday through Friday was just filled with the usual stuff around here. We drove around to all the neighboring cities trying to find more less actives, and we had a couple good lessons with investigators but not as much as we would have liked. We also tracted this week a little bit, but we didn't really have anybody to come back to. We tracted houses that had college students living in them, and they were nicer than normal people that's for sure. Plus we could talk to them a little more since we relate to them.

On Saturday and Sunday we had Stake Conference which was really good. All of it was focused on the "Hastening of the work", which I'm sure will be the theme for every stake conference that will ever happen again ever.

Sunday we had dinner with a young couple in our ward that have 2 year old quadruplets! they have two boys and two girls and they are really cute. It's fun to go over there for dinner. So the weather is finally almost starting to get better. It will be 40 one day, and then drop down to 10 and snow 3 inches the next. It's really annoying! I just want it to be Spring so we can go play tennis and stuff on p-days. It will come though.

Alright well that's about it for this week. cya!

Week 27

Hey!

I'm in Geneseo now! It's a really good area. We have some good investigators, and most of the town is taken up by the college. It's really weird, because when we go to the library to internet proselyte, we go to the college library, so it feels like I'm just back in college when I'm there.

It's been wicked cold this week too. We decided to walk to the library one day when wind chills were at -20 and I forgot my hat and the wind was howling. It was super fun/horrible. My ears are still sore. Anyway, now that I'm done complaining I'll tell you about my week!

Tuesday was transfer day, so we got all transferred and stuff. Wednesday through Saturday are all merged together, so I'll just generalize. We have spent a lot of our time trying to find less actives with not too much success because they either don't answer or they have moved. We've had a couple good visits though. We have a couple cool investigators. Most notable is a woman named Cassandra. She's an African lady who is already pretty religious. She's pretty intrigued with the Book of Mormon though so she's going to get reading that this week.

Friday, there was a baptism back in Freedom for Kyle, who is the son of Larry, who was the fiancĂ© of a less active that the senior couple went to go see. I think I've mentioned them before. Anyway, Kyle wanted me at the baptism so the Snyders came up and got us from Geneseo and drove us back to Freedom for the baptism. It was nice to see the people that I didn't get to say goodbye to from the Branch, and the baptism went really well. It was a lot of fun.

Sunday was church, which was sweet. I really like the ward. We have a lot of cool people and the members are really willing to work with us so hopefully we can get some work going. Anyway, that's all I got. Later!
